Book review: A War Like No Other — 2 Comments

  1. I first knew his work from Who Killed Homer? I remember reading his An Autumn of War back in 2002. I’ve long been baffled by his staunch support of the invasion of Iraq. The quick venture that turns into endless war: ancient history seems to offer a strong lesson there.

    • The interesting thing is that from the beginning he brings it up a few times as though it were a lesson, so I wondered about that. Maybe it was my biased reading. It’s also a lesson in the dangers of demagoguery.
